SERVE GLOBALLY

A World of Opportunities

God is at work all around the world and there is nothing like seeing that first hand. Our short-term mission experiences are based in long-term relationships.

UPCOMING FEATURED GLOBAL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES AND EVENTS

IMPACT MINISTRIES

The Serve Globally Impact Ministries consist of several missions that have their roots in Arvada Covenant and are led by members of the church.  These ministries represent the “Impact the World” part of our church vision. Each provides an opportunity for you to become involved in a mission as well as get to know the missionaries and those they are serving and reaching out to.

GUATESTAR

Arvada Covenant Church supports GuateStar

GuateStar helps the indigenous population of Guatemala break the cycle of poverty through educational and community outreach projects.  The primary methods involve building schools, the effective use of technology, teaching Biblical values and providing community healthcare.

Visit the GuateStar website to learn more about this ministry.

CASA HOGAR

Casa Hogar, an impact partner of Arvada Covenant Church

Casa Hogar Palabra de Vida  –  El Porvenir del Estudiante  –  Cuidar Corazon

The Casa Hogar ministry entails the support and relationship building with three connected organizations in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico.  Casa Hogar Palabra de Vida is a orphanage to abandoned and abused children, El Porvenir del Estudiante is an opportunity for the older children to earn a scholarship and continue with an education at one of the trade schools, university, or bible school in Chihuahua, and Cuidar Corazon is a new ministry to provide care for the disabled children of Chihuahua.

A team from Arvada Covenant visits Chihuahua to spend a few days with the children.  This is a wonderful opportunity to bless these children, and to give of yourself, while being blessed in return.

We have other opportunities throughout the year to be involved and impact the lives of these children.  Pastor Gardea, the director, visits Denver several times throughout the year.

GLOBAL PARTNERS

ANDERSON, KEN AND LORI

Organization: GuateStar
Location: Guatemala
Mission: GuateStar helps the indigenous population of Guatemala break the cycle of poverty through educational and community outreach projects. We build schools, give our students access to technology, teach Biblical values and provide community healthcare.

GuateStar is a non-profit founded by Ken and Lori Anderson in 2015 in response to an invitation by the Guatemalans for help. This continues a long tradition of helping the indigenous population of Guatemala that began in the 1950’s by Ken’s parents, Loren and Helen Anderson. As generations and their needs change, the methods have changed, but the goal remains the same. The Andersons’ deep history with the people and culture provides a direct understanding of their needs and an efficient way to help through applying best practices. GuateStar seeks to provide solutions and resources that help, but don’t create dependency.

Projects include the construction of a medical clinic; Club Extra, an after-school program to promote the love of learning by giving students additional learning time and exposure to new classes; and MAYA Link, an educational platform that delivers education directly to the home without the internet.

THANG, EZEKIEL "PUM"

Arvada Covenant Church missionary Ezekiel Pum Thang

Organization: Ignite Myanmar
Location: Myanmar
Mission:  Ignite Myanmar began with the simple goal of supporting evangelistic missionaries in Myanmar.  We strive to provide for the basic needs of each missionary we support: housing, food, clothing and basic supplies to conduct ministry.  The missionaries we support focus their attention on neighborhood evangelism, youth evangelism, missionary training and providing for the needs (both spiritual and material) of orphans.  We currently support 59 missionaries and 46 orphans, and have made it possible for 800+ weekly attenders to hear about Christ on an annual budget of $160,000.  We have also trained 70 potential missionaries and are hoping to raise enough support to enable all of them to work as full-time missionaries. Our goal is to show the love of Christ to those in Myanmar by sharing the Gospel, rescuing and bringing hope to orphans, and giving new identity to the youth. We seek to serve those who have not yet put their faith in Jesus Christ primarily through missionary evangelism and providing the financial ability for our missionaries to meet the needs of those they are reaching out to with the Gospel.
