7TH AND 8TH GRADE CONFIRMATION CLASS

CONFIRMATION CLASS DETAILS FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR

ACC has a long tradition of offering confirmation to our students.  Confirmation is an important opportunity for students to dive deeper into scripture and build Godly community.

What is the format?

Confirmation is a two year program for 7th and 8th graders. The length of the program allows for deeper study and community for each student who participates. We will spend a full year on the Old Testament and a full year on the New Testament while also talking through discipleship practices and Covenant theology.

When will the confirmation class meet?
Confirmation meets during the Middle School Class on Sundays during the Worship Gathering. Confirmands will start the morning off with their families in the sanctuary, then will be sent off after worship to head to the Youth Room with Student Ministries Director, JDrew. Students will be dismissed to head up to the lobby at 10:10am.
What is the commitment?
  • Serving in the church at least once a month. Options include but are not exclusive to: working in children’s ministry, serving as an usher or greeter, volunteering for an event, or serving in the student leadership team
  • Attending each of the sessions and bringing your materials with you: Bible, journal, writing utensil.
  • At least 70% attendance at the Middle School Class.
  • And if you are in your second year: a confirmation project! (It’s not too hard, it’s a culmination of all we have learned!)
Who is teaching?
  • JDrew Zander McGovern, Youth Ministries Director
  • Surprise guests throughout the year
