“Freedom to Become Children of God”

Galatians 4:1-11

Paul describes in Galatians chapter four, we were once slaves to sin and now we are heirs of God’s kingdom. Being a slave and being an heir are two very different things. We will explore what being an heir (a child of God) looks like and what impact that has on our faith.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. Describe a time when your relationship with God felt more like being enslaved than being a child of God.
  2. What are some of the differences between being a slave and an heir?
  3. If someone asks you to describe what Jesus’ death means to you, how would you describe this transfer from slave to an heir in a way that is understandable in our current cultural context?
