Who Do You Think You Are?

It is very easy to forget who we are. There are so many voices and influences in our lives that attempt to tell us who to become. For most of us our past mistakes try to convince us that we will never change. In this series, we will look to the letter of Ephesians, and Paul’s writings about the nature of God and the identity that Jesus makes possible for us today.

October 25th: I AM in Christ

Ephesians 1:3-13
Being IN CHRIST gives us a new identity, and when our identity is IN CHRIST, we can count on Jesus’ strength through the circumstances of life.

November 1st: Then and Now

Ephesians 2:11-13
When we remember our “then” moments, we have a lot more grace and love for someone else’s “then” moments. No matter who you are, there was a “past” where we were far from God, but Jesus brought us back! Imagine if we approached people in their “then” moments with the love and grace God gave US…

November 8th: Deep and Wide

Ephesians 3:14-21
When you and I ground our very life and identity in the love of Jesus Christ, we can withstand all that life will throw at us.  There’s only one thing deep enough and wide enough to endure, and that is the love of God that has been made known to us through His son.

November 15th: Regaining the Fullness

Ephesians 4:11-13
Trying to follow Jesus without truly letting Him change you is dangerous!  Jesus brought about a new way to be human – He called us to join Him in death SO THAT we can join Him in resurrection.

November 22nd: Stand Firm

Ephesians 6:10-20
Life here on earth is a wrestling match – a battle for the hearts and minds of people.   Scripture reminds us, though, that this is not a battle fought against other people.  Rather, we must put on the full armor of God and stay alert through prayer in order to STAND FIRM in the face of the spiritual forces that are constantly trying to pull us away from who we are in Christ.
