International Opportunities

God is at work all around the world and there is nothing like seeing that first hand.  Our short term mission experiences are based in long-term relationships.  We have had ongoing relationships with four core international opportunities.  There is more information about each one of these teams below.  Let us know if you are interested in joining a team for one of the trips. Several of them are great for families! You can email our mission team leaders here:

When: Spring Break 2017 – March 25 – April 1 (all ages welcome)
Trip Description: Travel to the highlands of Guatemala with Ken and Lori Anderson.  This trip will focus on helping the indigenous population of Guatemala with education and community outreach projects at two schools, Colegio Esmirna and Colegio Juan Wesley. These schools both strive to improve education in their communities. Less than 40% of children complete 6th grade, only 20% go on to 7th grade and less than 1 in 10 moves on to high school.  Join our team and come make a difference in these children’s lives now and for eternity.

A team of up to 16 people is needed to help with Club Extra (an after school program/camp) and/or doing light construction projects. Club Extra offers additional opportunities for students to learn Bible, computers, English, music, robotics and more. Lunch is served each day to students and is an extra for many of these children.

There are many ways in which you can participate. Join the team to contribute in computer, English, music or Bible classes, help prepare and serve meals, and more. Can’t go? Consider helping to send someone else or donating gently used instruments for the music classes (flutes, clarinets, trumpets are in high demand).

The cost is approximately $1,790. This covers airfare, in-country ground transportation, lodging, meals, travel insurance and projects funds for the camp & school. On this trip you will visit a local outdoor market, visit a typical home and participate in a Sunday worship service with your Guatemalan brothers and sisters.

When: July 2017…please check back for a finalized date.
Where: Casa Hogar Palabra de Vida Orphanage, Chihuahua, Mexico
Requirements: Attend team meetings. Passport valid at least 6 months after the trip is completed. Spanish speaking would be useful, but is not required.
Trip Description: We are planning another trip of encouragement and fun this July. Our spiritual focus will be Jeremiah 29:12-13 and we will be developing projects to encourage the sustainability of Casa Hogar. The orphanage is located in Chihuahua and is operated by a local church. Approximately 70 kids, ages 4 to 21 live at the orphanage. Depending on the situation at the time, some of the possible team activities could be participating in vacation Bible school, construction projects at the orphanage, sports/outings with the children, assist with the cooking, worship with the children and street evangelism or there is an option to stay one or more nights with the children at the orphanage. Transportation is either by church van, car or plane. Driving takes about 1 ½ days each way. If you choose to fly, there is a modern airport in Chihuahua, Mexico. We will stay in modern motels in Chihuahua and most meals will be in restaurants.

When: July 7 – 15
Where: Alaska Christian College in Soldotna, AK
Trip Description: Our partnership with Alaska Christian College is a special one and this summer we will be sending a team to help in the construction of a new dorm that our church helped fund. This is a great introduction to a short-term mission trip experience. The cost is just $250 plus additional airfare and optional day trip excursions. If you aren’t able to help with construction this trip will have many other opportunities for you to serve. You can help us continue to meet the needs of the college by assisting in other projects or working to organize classroom spaces. There are always ways in which everyone can serve on this trip.

This trip is for ages 15 and up. We would love for you to become a part of this mission team if you feel interested in this opportunity. Come to the beauty of Alaska and be a part of what God is doing among the Native Alaskan young people!
